THIS GAME IS BEING INTERRUPTED FOR A WORD FROM YOUR CREATOR

1 Corinthians 9:24  "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize?  Run in such a way as to get the prize."

This is the day that so many people are sitting in front of the TV set, if they were not able to get to the game itself, and they are watching the Super Bowl.  The game that is the end result of months of training, months of playing the games, week in, week out, and it all comes down to the best of the best of two leagues, playing for the big prize.  And if this was not enough to draw you to the TV, some people actually watch to see the multi-million dollar commercials from everything from beer to cars, insurance to whatever one wanted to spend that kind of money to advertise.  What do you think the response would be if, for one minute, everything went black on TV and the Voice of God spoke softly, "This game is being interrupted for a word from your Creator".  I truly believe no one would leave their seats.  Such an ideal time, so many watching, intent on seeing everything there is to see.

This game is being interrupted for a word from your Creator.  The Lord wants to get the attention of everyone of His children.  He tries in so many different ways, from a soft word in your spirit, to having the Holy Spirit disrupt your sleep to draw you into His presence, to having a friend speak a word of knowledge to you.  Have you noticed recently that you have a lack in yourself, like there is something missing?  You know you need something but it is hard to figure out?  What have you done about it.  Have you just thought about it and gone about your business?  Or have you opened the Word of God, began to search the scriptures to see if the Lord will reveal to you His message, you know there is a message for you; have you looked?  Have you gone to church, listened only halfway to the sermon as you were busy thinking of what to fix for dinner, how you would spend your afteroon, the chores you needed to get done, and left church knowing that something is missing, was something said....and you cannot recall what it was?
 
Words spoken but heard not.  The message given and not received as the direct channel to your spirit was closed by your mind.  And now you wonder whether it was important.....you wonder.

Today, just a short interruption.  Life can sometimes be interrupted by circumstances that prevent us from completing our game.  As football is played, so intense, so fiercely, it is still a game.  A dangerous game at times, but still a game.  Everyday life is no game.    We all run a race, the final goal one that has a great reward.  We have been trained well for this race.  We have been given the Word of God to prepare ourselves for this race, for the battle of daily life.  We are given opportunity by the Lord to come before Him with singing and worship, loving Him with our whole hearts.  This preparation is one that will see us through to the next battle.  If we begin our race with thanksgiving and praise to the God that loves us and is encouraging us in the race, then we know we are blessed by our Creator.  We know that He is going to see to it that we get to the next part of the race in His perfect time, in body and spirit, being kept unto Him; and with the preparation made for the next leg of the race.  Just by thanking our Lord and worshiping HIm.  Do you see that the Lord desires our praise, our thanksgiving, our appreciation of what He does for us?  He loves us so much and He so desires that love returned to Him.  When you love someone so much don't you love it when they return your love?  The Lord wants to bless us so much, to give us everything good....He is waiting for you to acknowledge His love with your own. 

This race we run, it is run daily.  The prize we seek, I pray that all seek this prize, is the sweet, precious relationship with our Creator.  Life eternal with Him.  I will never stop doing all I can to have that beautiful relationship with Him, knowing that at anytime day or night when I call, He is here.  I can feel His presence whenever I just say His Name.....Jesus.  He is never far from those who love Him, and spend time preparing for the race worshiping and thanking Him, loving Him.

But back to the interrupted game.....The Lord wants to let you know that He is still on His throne, He has not forgotten you for a second, and He is planning the next leg of your race.  He would like you to prepare yourselves for this part by turning to His Word and reading those life giving Words.  He wants you to train yourselves by prayer, by building up your faith in Him, by trusting Him.  His Word is true, His Plan is for our good.  He loves us and wants to bless us, in all we do, if we do it in Him.  See, that is the part, if we do things in Him, in His Name, we will be blessed.  If we follow the game plan that He set out for us, our game, our race will result in victory.  It is our race, but it is always His Game.  We must remember, we are playing His Game always.  It is about our Lord, our Creator, not us.  We are here to bring Him glory, to bring Him joy.  He gives back to us, just because of His great love for us all.  The Lord loves me....He loves you....
