CELEBRATING JESUS

Psalm 13:2  "Let the name of the Lord be praised, both now and forevermore."

Today was my assistant's birthday.  When we were leaving work, I asked if she and her husband had plans and she said no, since she had to work tomorrow. I asked if her mother had baked her a birthday cake and she said, "she made me one last Saturday".  She told me that there was a party to put away the Nativity and her mom always baked Baby Jesus a cake, so she made her one also.  She said she always has her birthday party with the party for Jesus.  I thought this was wonderful.  Can you imagine sharing a party for your birthday with Jesus.  From what she told me, in Mexico there is traditional ways to bring out the Natavity and set it up.  There is a party and a birthday cake for Jesus.  And the same is done when the Nativity is put away at the end of January, beginning of February. And as I am writing this down, the Lord is leading me deeper into this sharing the birthday party with Jesus.

The Lord is showing me that it would mark a beautiful occasion if each year, a celebration was held for Jesus on the day in which you were born again, and if you cannot remember the day, just once a year, on a day that could be marked as very special.  When the Lord comes into your life and cleanses you from all sin, breaths that renewed aroma of life into you, it is a day to celebrate Jesus.  Celebrate the One who has given all to give you all.  It is probably the second most important day in your life.  Second only to the day you were born, but then I believe the second birth is the most important one.  The first birth is precious, but there is sin to come, the second birth is a freeing, exhilarating birth as the sin has been overcome.   A true cause for celebrating Jesus, He is your Savior, your Redeemer, the Giver of new life.  This day could be on the day we celebrate Jesus' birthday, December 25th, but it is not the date that will be important, but the celebration.

Birthday celebrations should be a happy affair, so joyful to all those in attendance as life is celebrated.  What life is more important that one that has come to the Lord, in true repentance and love for the One who has saved Him.  Life without the Lord can be a life of despondancy, one of little hope, but a life with the Lord, a life in the Lord is a life of all good things to come; a life of possibilities, a life that is eternal in our Lord.  The day that we were born again, this day that changes you from a hopeless situation to a life filled with peace and joy, this day is one that should be remembered and celebrated.  Thank You, Lord.

This year, remember your "second birthday" and celebrate Jesus.  I know that there was a huge celebration the day that I gave my life to the Lord.  The Word tells us that when a sinner is saved, when they come to the Lord, there is a big celebration in heaven.  Rejoicing, rejoicing.  I believe if tears on in heaven, it will be on this day, and they will be tears of joy, sweet tears of joy.

If everyone takes a day, be it their birthday, or the day they were "born again" or even on Jesus' birthday, if they will take the day, bake a cake, have a party and celebrate Jesus, we could probably be celebrating Jesus every day of the year.  Just as we should be doing; celebrating Jesus.....every day of the year....everyone....celebrating.....Jesus....
